Charley - My First Puppy

My Mom bought him his first puppy: a beautiful black-lab-cross named Charley. (a little secret: Charley is the dog in our logo)

Sadie Joins Our Team

My pal Rod Mansbridge gave me my second dog Sadie when I was 24, what a sweetheart!
1995
Darford Becomes Available in the US

I sold a dough mixer and bought a huge cookie machine so I could make more biscuits.
2005
MegaBone is a Mega-Hit!

We start producing MegaBones to help promote healthier teeth and fresh breath.
2008
The Plus One Movement is Born

The team conceived the idea of the Plus One Movement... and our lives change forever.

Zero/G Wins 1st Place

We win 1st Place at the worlds largest annual pet show (Global Pet Expo) as the 'Best New Natural Product'

1987
Our First 30 Pan Oven

After making biscuits in his mom's kitchen, I bought an old 30 pan oven, put it together and tried to make dog biscuits - one pan at a time. My pal, Dave Hodge, tasted the first batch and hasn't been the same since!
1992
Cujo adopts Darford

One of my employees brought a stray back to the factory one night and I adopted her (she was pre-named 'Cujo'). She wasn't too pretty but we formed a special bond that lasted for years. She left me too young and with a big dent in my heart to this day.

New Formula

I reformulated our products to human grade meats and become first pet food company back into the USA after "Mad cow ban"
2006
Molly and Sophie Join the Company

After Cujo passed away, my girlfriend dropped a little black lab puppy in my lap. I cried like a baby and called her 'Molly'. And then came Sophie, a golden lab, as a gift from an employee. The two of them are inseparable.
2009
Darford Goes Public

I decide to take the company public and Darford launches on the Toronto Stock Exchange with its own special stock symbol: WUF.V!

We Set the Goal to feed 400,000 homeless dogs

We start feeding our goal of 400,000 homeless dogs with the Plus One Movement.
