Darford is a proudly Canadian nutrition company that makes all-natural food and treats for dogs. Our story began over 20 years ago with a dream, twelve dollars and a dog named Charley.
Darcy Bomford, Charley’s owner, was disappointed that all the biscuits and treats he could find in stores for his best friend were made from sub-par ingredients, loaded with additives and artificial flavours. So he decided to bake healthier, more natural treats for Charley in his own kitchen.
Charley loved them. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Charley’s gone now, but the company he and Darcy started has grown to over 30 employees and operates today out of a modern, 25,000 sq. ft. export certified manufacturing facility in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. Our food and treats for dogs are sold in North and South America, Asia and parts of Europe. To complement our current plant operations in Canada, we have expanded our international manufacturing presence by opening a second facility in Ohio to meet the increased demand for our high quality products in the United States.
In addition to manufacturing our own line of products, Darford has become an industry leader in developing products for other companies. As a result, many of the high quality, all-natural treats found on store shelves today under other brand names, are in fact made by Darford.

In addition to making some of the highest quality, all-natural treats and food available, we are proud to have fostered the Plus One Movement to help feed dogs in privately run rescues in Canada and the US.
